Sacred Security

“God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved; God shall help her, just at the break of dawn.
“Psalm 46:5 NKJV

You do not stand guard over a future you cannot see.

You were never asked to patrol tomorrow’s roads, or wear yourself thin fighting battles that have not yet arrived.

The burden of tomorrow was never placed upon your shoulders.

It rests in Hands far stronger than yours.

So love today.

Pray today.

Be faithful today.

And when fear comes whispering of what may be, answer it with quiet confidence:

“That road has not arrived yet.”

For the Lord walks ahead of me where my feet have yet to trod.

He sees every bend in the path, every valley and every mountain, every joy and every sorrow.

I do not stand guard over the future.

I stand here.

And the One who holds tomorrow is holding me.

So I will rest.

Not because I see what lies ahead, but because I trust the One who does.
