Enduring Love

“It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”
— Lamentations 3:22–23 (KJV)

I make you the morning sun
to gently warm your face.
I send you summer rain
to make the garden bloom with grace.

I whisper through the autumn leaves
that dance upon the wind,
and clear a path for you to walk
to the pavilion I nestled in.

A bubbling brook of water
to bathe and quench your thirst,
to mirror all that’s precious in you
and reveal to you your worth.

I soften you with moonlight
while the night sings lullabies.
The heavens keep their watch above,
their stars reflected in your eyes.

When daylight comes again,
and you yawn and stretch to life,
As I lavish you with new mercies—
know my enduring love abides.
