Lord, make the fire within me wild,
Yet keep my spirit meek and mild.
Give wisdom when the flames arise,
A holy fire—both wild and wise.
Prayer
Father, I want to burn for You.
Kindle in me a holy fire that the world cannot extinguish. Give me courage that does not bow to fear and conviction that does not bend for the approval of others.
But Lord, make my fire wise. Let my zeal never run ahead of Your Spirit. Teach me when to speak, when to be silent, when to stand, and when to simply love.
Keep my heart tender while making my faith bold. Let truth be spoken from my lips with grace, and let everything I do point beyond me and back to You.
